Caster wheel configurations

How many swivel and fixed casters are used on one unit directly affects turning radius, straight-line stability, rolling resistance and load distribution. Configuration advice must be confirmed together with equipment size, center of gravity and route.

ConfigurationCommon effectRisk or to be confirmed
Four swivel castersFlexible steering, suitable for limited-space applications.Straight-line stability and brake requirements to be confirmed.
Two swivel casters + two fixed castersMore stable straight-line movement, often used for trolley equipment.Turning space, pushing direction and floor to be confirmed.
Centered fixed-caster configurationCan improve turning of some long equipment.Load distribution, center height and rocking risk to be confirmed.
Special wheel configurationUsed for AGV, rail, container or custom equipment.Must be confirmed by drawings, samples and tests.

Wheel configuration information

  1. Equipment length, width, height, center of gravity and bottom structure.
  2. Route, turning radius, ramps and thresholds.
  3. Manual pushing, towing or automated equipment movement.
  4. Whether brakes, direction locks, shock absorption or low noise are needed.
