Caster mounting types

Mounting type determines whether the caster can be properly fixed to the equipment and also affects mounting height, swivel clearance and maintenance. Hole spacing, thread, plate thickness, welding and fastener data cannot be guessed and must be confirmed by drawing.

Top-plate mounting

Common on heavy-duty and industrial equipment. Plate size, hole spacing, hole diameter, plate thickness and bolt specification need confirmation.

Threaded-stem mounting

Suitable for some light and medium-duty equipment. Thread specification, length, locking method and mounting height need confirmation.

Bolt-hole or special mounting

Used for specific equipment structures. Samples, photos or complete mounting drawings are required.

Mounting type confirmation

  1. Provide equipment bottom photos and old caster photos.
  2. Mark hole spacing, hole diameter, plate size, thread and mounting height.
  3. Confirm whether fixed casters, swivel casters, brakes or direction locks are needed.
  4. Use samples to check mounting and swivel clearance before bulk use.
